ESTABLISHMENT
The Research and Development Association for Future Electron Devices (FED) is a foundation established by the Japanese electronics industry in 1981 under the license of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) inaccordance with the provisions of the Civil Code.

Purpose

The main purpose of FED is to promote R&D projects of future electron devices aimed at the development of novel devices useful for future electronic industries in cooperation with the national research institutes: Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL) etc., and universities, and to disseminate the R&D results thereby obtained to the industrial community. FED is thus contributing to the development of basic technologies related to electronics and information in Japan and the world.
