ESTABLISHMENT

The Research and Development Association for Future
Electron Devices (FED) is a foundation established by the Japanese
electronics industry in 1981 under the license of the Ministry of
International Trade and Industry (MITI) inaccordance with the provisions
of the Civil Code. |

Purpose
The main purpose of FED is to promote R&D projects of future
electron devices aimed at the development of novel devices useful
for future electronic industries in cooperation with the national
research institutes: Electrotechnical Laboratory (ETL) etc., and
universities, and to disseminate the R&D results thereby obtained
to the industrial community. FED is thus contributing to the development
of basic technologies related to electronics and information in
Japan and the world.
