R&D Association for Future Electron Devices

International Meeting

International Meeting on Education and R&D Management

In order to win an international industrial competition, Japan which is poor in natural resources has to find out a way to a R&D result.
In Japan, the research institutes of companies have borne the broad domain from fundamental research to applied research required for industries. On the other hand, the universities have put emphasis of research on the academic field.
However, at the laboratories of Japanese companies, the region of research and development has been shifted to applied research, and the fundamental research which is the fountainhead of industrial competitive power has become scanty in recent years.
In order to maintain the competition power in the international market of mid - and long-term industry, Japan has to strengthen the organization which does fundamental research and development.
The universities which have played a central role of personnel training started preparation of research for supporting industrial competitive power. The synergistic effect of personnel training and fundamental research in universities is expected to contribute for the industrial technical research.
This meeting is aimed at having a concrete discussion on the structure for making the most use of the synergistic effect of personnel training, the latest R & D management (Education and R&D Management), and industry - academia - government cooperation.
