R&D Projects The R&D projects of future electron devices are conducted under contract with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) in accordance to Industrial Science and Technology Frontier (ISTF) program and The New Sunshine Program of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). In this connection, research management, as well as overall investigations and surveys, is carried out by FED, while the actual R&D of future electron devices is subcontracted to member companies and universities, and R&D on more basic technologies is carried out by the national institutes.
