Fusion technology of Bio and nano

Program director: Naoki Yokoyama (Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.)

From the viewpoint of strategy for developing the IT basic technology that supports 21st century society, we recognized the current situation and discussed the importance of the interdisciplinary technology (fusion between biology and biotechnology covering DNA and proteins, and nanotechnology covering semiconductors and inorganic polymers). We confirmed that technological development in these fields must be conducted as early as possible ahead of other countries.
